Exhibitions

The Ava Gallery holds up to six exhibitions a year, which are open to the public and free of charge to attend. These include solo or group exhibitions by contemporary artists, either those whom we represent or established artists we invite to show with us on a one-off basis.

We also hold regular exhibitions of European, British and Irish art from the late nineteenth century to the 1960s, mixing Irish artists with their British and European counterparts.

Our aim is to provide an exciting visual experience for visitors, and to offer collectors access to international works as well as local artists who they might be more familiar with.

We welcome all visitors and educational groups to these exhibitions and for particular shows, we often arrange informative gallery talks which are open to the public to attend.

We also organise significant exhibitions of work on loan from private collections that attract international attention. For example, 'Duncan Grant: Paintings from 1905 to the 1970s', held in Sept 2005, drew visitors from England, the USA and Canada in 2005.
