If you love art and you live in Europe you are in the right place! Europe holds some of the great masterpieces of the world and a short flight or train journey to France, Italy, Spain, Russia or other countries will take you to some of the most amazing pieces of art ever created. The problem is that there is so much to choose from you will not know where to start but there is something to cater for all artistic tastes.
Hop on a flight to Italy and drink in all that the country has to offer. Rome, Milan and Florence are renowned for their artistic treasures and you can see masterpieces such as Michelangelo's David, Botticelli's Birth of Venus or Leonardo's Last Supper. Equally there are lesser known but equally beautiful frescoes and church paintings dotted around the country.
Spain brings you Gaudi's architecture in Barcelona and the amazing palace of Alhambra in Granada. A short drive to Paris opens up the Louvre, with the Mona Lisa.
Russia presents more of a challenge as you need a visa. But if you make the effort you will be well rewarded. From the Faberge Eggs, to the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, to the Kremlin museums or the Pushkin Museum of Fine Art you will be spell bound from start to finish. As well as the famous art galleries, you should also take time to visit some of the Orthodox Cathedrals with their priceless icons and ornate decoration in gold.
